On March 20th, the concentrated application work for the 2024 National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) at the College of Physics and Electrical Engineering was successfully completed. This time, the college submitted a total of 15 projects, including 1 key project, 7 general projects, and 7 youth projects.
In early November 2023, following the unified arrangements of the university, the college launched the mobilization for the 2024 NSFC application work, marking the beginning of the application process. Subsequently, the college conducted multiple rounds of preliminary mobilizations, promptly grasping the baseline of applications within the college and the intentions of individual faculty members to apply, while actively providing services to the broad range of faculty members involved in the application process. In late February, during the critical period of application, the college organized and invited several experts from various fields to conduct pre-reviews of all application proposals. These experts conveyed the latest policies, shared their experience in fund application, and answered questions and clarified doubts encountered by faculty members, further ensuring the quality of the application proposals.
Before the application deadline, a three-tier review model was implemented for each application proposal: “individual self-check + college review + centralized review by the Office of Scientific Research.” This ensured a thorough and detailed formal review process with an average of three rounds, guaranteeing the successful submission of all proposals. The goal is to achieve excellent results in the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) funding applications and continuously promote the improvement of the college’s research level.
